Adam Phones founded in a small serviced office in London, hiring phones and pagers by the day.

Before the rise of the mobile, pagers hit peak popularity in the 1980s. In 1987, we supplied beepers for hire, via the NHS, for anxious, expectant dads.

In 1991 we began deploying satellite phones into remote areas including war zones and areas of national disaster – delivering critical communications for military personnel and rescue teams.

In 1992 we took the decision to develop our own in-house billing platform. It’s proven to be a good investment for our clients, acting as the engine that powers our cost management solutions to mitigate bill shock.

Cinema attendance was booming in the 1990s. In 1994, we provided communications to the cast and crew of 101 Dalmations. We’ve gone on to support a host of filmmakers and production companies.

As the world became more mobile in 1995, we connected film crews in the remotest of locations where terrestrial telecoms was scarce – from documentaries like Big Cat Diaries to BBC journalists around the world.

In 1995, we delivered mobile communications solutions to the White House staff during President Clinton’s first visit to Northern Ireland.

In 1999, 12 years into the Adam Phones story, we obtained our licence to become a Service Provider for Vodafone.

In 2000, we proudly supported the White House Communications Agency again during President Clinton’s visit with Gerry Adams to further the Northern Ireland peace process.

We signed our second Service Provider Agreement, with O2, enabling us to deliver mobile solutions to customers on multiple networks for the first time.

In 2003 we outgrew our small serviced office and purchased our first two adjacent offices in Chiswick, renovating them both into a single workspace.

We pioneered online billing in 2005, saving our customers time by automating their accounting and invoicing processes and enabling their staff to process telephony expenses quickly and accurately.

With media a firm staple of our lives, we worked with the Police, BBC and competing teams to cover one of London’s most prestigious events, the Oxford Cambridge boat race.

In 2009, we were trusted once again by the White House Communications Agency and the US Secret Service to support President Obama’s first UK visit.

Having successfully delivered mobile solutions to customers for 23 years, we made a decisive move into fixed line connectivity, signing wholesale agreements with seven domestic and international carriers in the first year.

We were awarded another ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ from the White House Communications Agency for providing services during President Obama’s visit to the Nato summit.

To meet the compliance requirements of our City clients, we partnered with Natterbox to deliver mobile call recording solutions under the initial MiFID regulations.

To facilitate further expansion, we purchased the office adjoined to our existing space and renovated it, increasing our capacity by a third.

During the London 2012 Olympics we delivered advanced contact centre solutions to the security services that kept us all safe.

We launched our smartphone app, empowering customers to instantly check their usage, set alerts and view invoices on the screen of their smartphone.

We entered a partnership with Semafone to deliver PCI compliant telephone payment solutions to our contact centre customers.

We signed our third Service Provider Agreement, with EE. Customers could now procure services on all three of the leading UK mobile networks, and still benefit from our advanced service wrap.

We provided connectivity to five of the top six biggest London hedge fund launches of the year.
